Shock Absorption

  1. Determine XZ values of knee and hip joint centers at timepoint of max knee flexion
  2. Calculate the difference in X and Z between knee and hip joint centers
  3. Calculate the thigh angle by inverse tangent of difference in Z over difference in X
  4. Metric calculated for Drop Jump, Triple Jump, Deceleration, Cut.
Score Scoring Definition Significance
0 Thigh angle is greater than 45 degrees Poor Shock Absorption
1 Thigh angle is less than 45 degrees Fair Shock Absorption
2 Thigh angle is less than 30 degrees Good Shock Absorption
